i'd like to be everything you want
Mid-November 2017( © HUNTER. )
Jumping onto a plane to Japan in November hadn't exactly been a preplanned thing but neither had finding out his mother had had a heart attack. It had been the middle of the night in San Diego when Hiro had gotten the call from his father. With a little encouragement from Natalie he was rising from bed and moving around the apartment they shared quickly pulling things into his suitcase. It's not a quick travel from San Diego to Tokyo and there had been some worries that something could happen before he even got there. Thankfully he arrived without issue. Hiro would stay a couple days to help with his mother, help make sure she didn't jump back into her work too soon. He'd call Natalie when it was a reasonable time just to hear her voice. She couldn't come with him but continued to support him from afar.
When the time came that Hiro and his father felt that his mother was in a much better healthy pace was when Hiro started making his plans to get back to San Diego. He did something a little different though. The man didn't just plan to take the next plan home but instead contacted Natalie's sister and cousin for a little assistance. He had this urge to surprise Natalie with something. Maybe being around his parents and seeing his father fuss about his wife struck a romantic chord in Hiro. Natalie would be expecting him a day later which was perfect.
When Hiro arrived at the airport it had been Mai's husband that had been kind enough to pick him up. It had been Mai's and Jake's job to make sure that Natalie didn't make any plans for the evening and hopefully keep his earlier arrival quiet. Jake was offering even more as the cafe owner was closing up early to allow Hiro and Natalie to have the place to themselves plus providing dinner. Hiro would undoubtedly be owing the man later for his kindness. Hiro was dropped off at Jake's place where he stayed to keep out of sight. Jake had mentioned that he'd get Natalie over somehow. When Natalie would come into the cafe Hiro would be waiting in the kitchen out of sight until Jake gave the cue. Hiro stepped through the door that separated the kitchen from the rest of the cafe dressed in dark grey, long sleeve and black slacks. With a rose in hand Hiro spotted Natalie and couldn't help a soft smile creeping on his lips. "Hey you."
